On KIRO's Jake and Spike Show, Myers pushed back on former Gov. Inslee linking PNW wildfire smoke to climate change (Inslee: "Millions of Americans are now breathing the consequences of the climate change that is fundamentally changing North American forests"). Myers argued smoke alone is not evidence of climate change, that "climate change is significantly down on the list" of fire causes versus forest density from fire suppression, and that weakened trees from overcrowding drive pest outbreaks "not because of climate change, but because we have too many trees left."

Analysis notes

GOP-framing track (out-of-window). Anti-climate-attribution / forest-health counter-frame during early PNW smoke season; distinct from Canada-blame frame on canadian-fire-smoke.
