At a Friday joint press conference with Kerr County officials, State Rep. Wesley Virdell said the "defining difference" from 2025 was advance warning: last year residents "went to sleep" with no indication a wall of water was coming, while this time the community watched neighboring areas flood for roughly two days beforehand.
